Massage aims to produce three types of effect on the body systems: physical, physiological and psychological.

Deep Tissue: This technique goes deeper into the muscle and connective tissue to release chronic tension. Muscle tightness might have developed from injury or overuse and this type of massage focuses on specific muscles rather than a full body massage. It helps decrease pain, chronic muscle tension, and improves flexibility. Deep-tissue massage utilizes slow strokes, direct pressure or friction applied across the grain of the muscles with the fingers, thumbs or elbows. It concentrates on the deep layers of muscle and fascia in the body, its purpose is to reach the fascia beneath the surface muscles.
